Mearns Castle Golf Academy is a leading golf and leisure destination, offering a 50-bay Toptracer driving range, 9-hole golf course, PGA Coaching Academy, fitness and wellness facilities, and on-site dining. Open seven days a week and welcoming visitors of all ages and abilities, the academy provides a complete “practice, play and relax” experience.

With a growing number of visitors arriving in electric vehicles, and typical stay times of 2–3 hours, the academy identified a clear opportunity to introduce rapid EV charging on site.

The Challenge

As EV adoption increased among its customer base, Mearns Castle recognised that charging provision would soon become an expected amenity.

Key drivers included:

With existing solar panels already installed on site, the academy wanted EV charging to form part of a wider sustainability strategy and improve overall self-efficiency.
