Stranraer Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in the southwest of Scotland which boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. In addition to the golfing facilities, the club also boasts a well-stocked pro shop, a comfortable lounge, and a dining area serving delicious meals.
Recognising the growing pupularity of EV vehicles, Stranraer Golf Club was looking for an EV charging solution that would allow them to easily and efficiently manage their charging stations while also offering benefits to both members and visitors. They sought a system that would allow them to customize charging rates, track electricity usage, and generate additional revenue.
Our team of experienced installers surveyed the site and carefully evaluated the scope of work needed. This included a thorough assessment of the groundworks and a 15m excavation to reach the existing electrical supply located in the clubhouse. Based on the survey and the overall needs of the club, a dual 22kw fast charger was recommended and installed. The charger ensures 2 visitors can charge simultaneously and features a modern, sleek and minimal design that complements the surrounding environment.
Our team was responsible for handling the entire job, from the initial survey assessment to the groundworks, electrical installation, and aftercare. To minimise disruption to the club and its visitors, the job was carried out early in the morning on a weekday.
The chargers are integrated with our advanced cloud-based management system, which enables drivers to sign up through the Get Connekted app. This allows the club to effectively monitor usage, set preferential rates, and even create a new revenue stream.
"Connekt exceeded our expectations installing our new EV chargers at Stranraer Golf Club. The team was efficient, professional, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. The software and app solutions are incredibly easy to use, making it a seamless experience for our visitors and members. We are thrilled with the end result."
Our 22kw charging solution, based on an average 2 hour charging time offers roughly 180 miles of range (speed of charging based on battery type of EV) – perfect for topping up your car charge whilst visitors enjoy a round of golf, relax in the clubhouse or visit the shop. The chargers are connected to our back office system, with drivers signing up via our Get Connekted app.
This allows the golf club to manage and monitor their charging infrastructure, run reports and generate additional revenue by setting preferential tarrifs and rates to suit their needs with members and visitors having the options to gain preferential charging rates via the Get Connekted app or quick pay via the quick pay QR option (via Apple Pay / Google Pay).
