The Challenge

Manorview Hotel Group had been receiving an increasing number of guest inquiries about EV charging at their venues. Recognising the growing importance of EV charging—described by Carlton Graham, Business Development Director, as “the new WiFi”—they knew action was needed. However, they faced challenges:

None of their 8 venues had existing EV charging infrastructure.
They needed a solution that would align with their customer experience standards, accommodate high guest turnover, and fit seamlessly into their operations.
With multiple proposals from suppliers like E.ON and EVC, finding a provider that could deliver a tailored, brand-aligned solution was critical.

Our Solution

Connekt approached Manorview with a solutions-focused strategy, ensuring that every detail was addressed through a comprehensive consultation and bespoke design:

Tailored Site Surveys: Conducted in-depth surveys of all 8 venues, analyzing key factors such as guest dwell time and venue-specific requirements. For instance:
- Bowfield Hotel & Country Club, with its gym and spa facilities, required higher-capacity chargers to serve long-stay guests.
- Redhurst Hotel’s high footfall necessitated a robust solution to handle frequent turnover.
Custom Charger Branding: Designed chargers branded with Manorview’s identity, creating a seamless and welcoming experience for guests.
Strategic Charger Placement: Installed 13 chargers across 8 venues, providing a total of 22 sockets, comprising:
- 15 x 22kW (AC) sockets for general use.
- 3 x 7.4kW (AC) sockets for slower overnight charging.
- 4 x 40kW (DC) sockets for rapid charging, ensuring a 40-minute turnaround.

Connekt worked under tight deadlines, coordinating installations around Manorview’s busy calendar of live events, including weddings and guest stays.

Minimal Disruption: Installation crews completed work before guest arrivals each day, leaving venues spotless.
